Tradition

Since 1936

Jeanne’s Bakery was established in 1936 by Achille and Jeanne Van Landeghem. They first made their mark in St Boniface. As they grew, in later years, they moved to 931 Notre Dame Ave. The Bakery’s popularity grew, they even supplied dainties to Royal Dignitaries when they came to visit Manitoba in the 1940’s and on.

The culture within and how production is done, has always been family oriented for the Van Landeghem’s. The bakery held its delicious long-lasting tradition for three generations and more. In 2003, a new owner came into play. The family cake recipe did not change, even if the owners had. Currently two generations work within the bakery. That being the bakers, behind the scenes operations, decorators or just a friendly face for customers to see.

Jeanne’s is a must stop for Winnipegger’s who have remained or moved away from the city. Somehow, they comeback to get their Jeanne’s fix, and so the tradition lives on.
